Robot Lamps?

LuminAR from MIT’s Media Lab is pretty interesting. It’s kind of like a cross between a Wii and a lamp. LuminAR can display interfaces on any surface and react to user or object based physical commands. This allows interfaces to bridge the gap between on screen and physical environments. Not sure if this is “the future” of computing as the BBC suggested but it does present an option to display interfaces in areas where they’re currently untenable. I could imagine it used as a sort of hands free computer to support users who are busy with other tasks.

MIT’s Media Lab is awesome!
