Brian Kalma talks about Designing Experiences

This is a great preso about customer experience design. The biggest takeaway for me is that Brian really reinforces the idea that 1 to 1 customer contact is essential to empower a designer to craft a relevant experience, which is something I’ve been fighting for practically my whole career.

Giving designers access to customers or product users has not been a core component of the traditional agency model and lots of clients are uncomfortable granting access to outside vendors. This has been changing as both clients and agencies look for competitive advantages and realize that research is that differentiator.
